“Forevermore” is another song that was brought into the band by then band members Simon Kono and Dave Mason with the working title of “Cakerip” as Simon had been influenced by the music of the band Cake when writing the guitar riffs. I wrote an elongated vocal part to contrast the steccato nature of the main verse guitar riff, and had to be urged for months to belt out this part despite my inclination to have it be a more subdued vocal. The lyrics to this song are the least explainable, even to myself, so I won’t even try. A bluesy bridge contrasts the moodiness of the verses resulting in a song that ends up sounding nothing like Cake at all.
